Little Dots Learning

I built Little Dots Learning not as a teacher, but as a mom figuring things out day by day, just like you. It started with my son’s speech delay and the need for simple tools I could use at home.

Little dots, big dreams & why I build Little Dots Learning

I never planned to build a learning blog. I was just a tired, overwhelmed, but deeply hopeful mom trying to help her toddler.. one activity, one page, one breakthrough at a time.

When I became a mom to Theodore, everything changed. What started as days filled with feedings, naps, and messy floors slowly became a journey of discovery, not just for him, but for me too. I began to realize how much learning happens at home, through everyday routines, play, and even the quiet in-betweens.

When my son was diagnosed with speech delay, I entered a world I knew very little about. Speech therapy, routines, special milestones that didn’t follow the typical timeline, it all felt unfamiliar and sometimes heavy.

We started navigating therapy sessions, assessments, and long days of figuring things out on our own. Add to that the usual parenting fatigue and the pressure to “do it all,” and it was clear that we needed support, structure, and tools that worked for our family.

But alongside the overwhelm was a deep sense of purpose: I wanted to do something to support him, to meet him where he was, and to give him what he needed at home.

We started with simple things like counting toys, naming objects, singing the same songs over and over again. I looked up activities at night and printed worksheets whenever I could. I couldn’t always find what I needed, so I started making my own.

And that’s when it clicked: If I’m spending this much time making toddler learning materials, maybe there are other moms like me who don’t have the time, energy, or headspace to do the same.

So I started making printable activities, themed calendars, and toddler-friendly resources that were simple, fun, and free. And I shared them here for any parent who might need them.

I uploaded the printable materials, organized them in folders, and eventually building what is now Little Dots Learning, not just for me and Theodore, but for any parent out there who needs a little help and encouragement.

I created this space not as a professional teacher or expert, but as a mom doing her best trying to support her child’s development at home, supplement therapy, and build a loving, intentional learning environment.

I knew I wasn’t alone. So many parents want to be more involved in their child’s learning but don’t have the time or energy to create materials from scratch. Some don’t know where to start. Some are overwhelmed by the idea of homeschooling or structured learning.

I get it. I was there too.

But why “Little Dots”?

Because every little dot, every small moment, activity, or milestone.. connects to something bigger.

That messy art project? That’s creativity.

Those repeated alphabet flashcards? That’s language building.

That morning walk? That’s sensory learning.

Our little ones are growing, dot by dot, day by day. And so are we.

Little Dots Learning isn’t just a collection of worksheets or activity books. It’s a quiet corner of the internet where moms like me can feel less alone.

It’s where I gather the things I’ve made for Theodore. The same materials we’ve used on our good days and our not-so-easy ones. Some of them were created during late nights, others in between naps and chores. All of them were made with the hope that learning at home could feel lighter, more joyful, and less overwhelming.

This blog grew out of moments when I didn’t know what I was doing, but kept trying anyway.

And if you’re here reading this, maybe you’re in that season too.

I don’t have all the answers. I’m not an expert.

But I’m here, figuring it out alongside you.
