When Showing Up Feels Heavy
When I decided to create marietam.com, relaunch TVAD and volunteer for CW Tayabas, I thought I was simply starting projects.
I didn’t realize I was stepping into a deeper battle.. the quiet, unseen kind.
Putting yourself out there sounds brave in theory.
But living it? It’s terrifying.
There are days I wonder if anyone really cares.
When messages go unanswered, when the people I counted on grow silent..
when the enthusiasm fades, and I’m left holding dreams in my hands.
Alone.
There are moments I feel invisible, misunderstood, even judged.
And sometimes, honestly, I want to hide again.
But then I remember: I didn’t start this to impress anyone.
I started this because God placed a burden in my heart, to help others, even if it feels like I’m speaking into a quiet, empty room.
I started this for the women who need hope, for the moms who feel stretched thin, for the dreamers who are just one “you’re not alone” away from breathing again.
The fear never really goes away.
But here’s what I’m learning:
It’s not about being fearless. It’s about being faithful.
Every time I show up, even in fear, even unseen, even uncelebrated, it’s an act of obedience.
And obedience is never wasted.
If you’re building something right now and you feel invisible too, please know:
Your faithfulness is seen.
Your small beginnings are sacred.
Your unseen battles matter.
Focus on helping, not impressing.
Focus on planting seeds, not chasing applause.
Because in God’s hands, even the smallest yes can grow into something eternal.
You are not alone.
You are not forgotten.
And if no one else has told you today, I’m cheering for you.
Keep showing up. Even if it’s just you and God in the room.
That’s more than enough.
“Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”
— Galatians 6:9
